Know your eternal questions

After a dinner party: one friend dissects the power dynamics, another maps the flow of ideas, a third can’t forget the menu.

Every human is guided by deep curiosities of unknown provenance. The eternal questions you repeatedly ask. They are the grooves you slip into, they direct you without you noticing.

You should write them down somewhere. Curiosity is your compass.

The opposite of curiosity is fear. Fear is also associated with deep questions, but with fear you assume the answers will hurt you. Pain reminds you of your limits. Limits remind you of your death. So instead of asking questions, you limit yourself to a model of the world you consider safer than reality. This is called ignorance.

Questions are simply what you do not know. Eternal questions are things you can never fully know. This is why you keep asking them.
