Let fear ride shotgun
They tell you to be fearless. It’s bad advice.
You can’t avoid fear, nor should you want to. Fear is your body telling you that something needs to become known. It’s not a a weakness, it’s your curiosity covered in caution tape. You think it’s screaming “stop,” but it’s actually whispering “pay attention.”
Fear is an internal GPS that sounds when you approach the edge of your map, someplace unknown. Instead of silencing it, let it guide you to what you need to discover next. The sphere of fear contracts with every step toward the darkness.
Undiscovered territory is where all growth happens. There is a dark side to growth.
Today’s discomfort is yesterday’s terror and tomorrow’s routine. And Routine is doing what you want. Courage is letting fear ride shotgun without letting it grab the wheel.
