Forget the thud factor
The thud factor is the fantasy of monumental, overnight change. In waking life, growth is incremental, imperceptible, and unpredictable.
Instead of chasing a monumental thud, use small progress to build momentum.
Instead of chaining yourself to a singular think plural. When you obsess over one thing, you close yourself to other possibilities. (This is addiction.)
Instead of seeking perfection, just make it edible — share something small before it’s finished.
Yes, occasionally someone changes history with a half-court swish heard around the world. It’s OK to aim for the impossible.
Most times, the game is won by twos and threes and the occasional well-timed foul. (This is the extent of my knowledge on basketball.)
