The universe is not binary

Despite all efforts to divide things in two, the universe is not binary. As concepts, the extremes feel clear: day and night, black and white, good and evil. In reality, each dyad flanks a wide spectrum of possibility.

Remember this when you feel yourself pulled in two directions. There is certainly a third option and probably hundreds more.

Bring this thinking to analysis. Critiques that reduce a creator’s work to “good” or “not good” aren’t worth a damn. Criticism that reflects the how, what, and why of something seeks to illuminate. That’s infinitely more useful than bare evaluation.

Look around. You’ll see most dichotomies are arbitrary. “Pepsi or Coke?” Why not a Fanta? “My way or the highway?” There is always a middle road. “Particle or wave?” It’s neither. It’s both. The universe is everything at the same time.
